  Alexander Staunton inherited the earldom at the age of twenty-four, and with it came the responsibility for taking care of his mother, his brother, his sister, and his ward. The responsibility forced him to grow up, and since inheriting the earldom he has increased his family’s holdings and set up his brother with a plantation in Bermuda.
